Frozen Embryo Transfer

When you want to grow your family with embryos frozen in a previous IVF round, or when the previous cycle was unsuccessful and you choose to cryopreserve (freeze) the embryos for a future try, frozen embryo transfer can help. Frozen embryo transfer significantly decreases the financial and physical load of a fresh IVF cycle by allowing you to skip many steps—the pre-transfer testing is substantially less complex, and the phases of ovulation induction, egg retrieval, sperm retrieval, and embryo culture are no longer required.

At Sapling IVF clinic is completely equipped to give the best infertility and FET treatment in India. Our labs adhere to strict international protocol and apply the greatest levels of hygiene and safety, leaving no space for human error.

FET cycles can be ‘natural’ or medicated. In a natural FET cycle, minimal or no medication is being used, and the embryo transfer is timed to coincide with your uterus’ readiness to receive the embryo. Your menstrual cycle is closely monitored for ovulation, and the thickness of the uterine lining (endometrium) is measured using blood tests and ultrasound scans.

The embryo transfer is conducted when your uterus is ready to receive the embryo.

Depending on their age, uterine health, and reproductive history, some patients may require medication to prepare the uterus for the transfer and increase their odds of successful implantation. This is known as a controlled medicated FET cycle, and it lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

FET Success Rate

While the success rate of frozen embryo transfer is comparable to that of fresh transfer, it is affected by a variety of factors, including the woman’s age at the time of transfer, the health of the uterus, the quality of the frozen embryos, the IVF. lab’s embryo freezing protocol, and the stage at which embryos were frozen (day 2, 3 or 5). Additionally, not every embryo survives the freezing and thawing process. The competency of the IVF lab performing the transfer is equally important in FET outcome.
